Carbon-neutral Web Hosting

Green Web Hosting! This site hosted by DreamHost. By popular demand (including mine) and just because they wanted to, my long-term web host, Dreamhost, has gone carbon-neutral. That means that my websites are now carbon-neutral, too. Yay!

Also, here’s a link to the Inconvenient Truth’s carbon calculator if you want to know what your carbon footprint is. According to this calculator, my carbon output is 3.6 tons per year, and the average American’s is 7.5. Hmm.

Home Again – Green Builder’s Web Launch and Fundraising Cruise

I’m back from a killer visiting tour with friends and loved ones in Chicago and San Francisco! We also went camping in Big Sur, which has one of the most beautiful coast lines I’ve ever seen. It looks sort of how I vaguely thought parts of New Zealand looked, but I never realized we had that right in California. Wow.

Yes, I took lots of pictures. No, I haven’t yet posted any. Stay tuned, though!

Now I’m back and have finalized the launch of a small website for a local green builder — probably the first in Virginia — GreenSource Builders. If you’re interested in Green Building, there are a lot of interesting links on the Green Building page.

Also, the audio/visual training program for at-risk youth here in DC that I’m working on (teaching the web design program and doing most of the webmastering) is having a pretty cool fundraiser on Monday. It will be both a film premiere and a dinner cruise on the Anacostia, so if that sounds fun to you, check it out.

Also, consider signing up for MMTI’s e-newsletter if you’re interested in hearing news about our TV show and other film, theater, and music projects.

The newish news. You heard it here first. Maybe.

Quick update.

Last month, I worked with the Digital Division team to launch a new website for the firm. Check it out at digitaldivision.com. We are launching a fresh new HTML email newsletter this week, so sign up if you want to check it out!

Also, there are some newish posts on Small Picture, so check them out if you’re interested in what goes on in that blog, which I contribute to and edit.

On Friday, I’m leaving for an 11-day vacation — or visiting tour if you will — to see some friends and family in Chicago and California. I’ll be away from April 6th through 17th, so please keep those dates in mind if you’re trying to reach me for anything. I don’t plan to bring a computer with me — except for my Treo, of course.
